Pixiu is a mythical god beast in Chinese mythology, embodied with a dragon head, horse body and qilin’s feet, similar to a lion. Pixiu’s head can face doors or windows, but if that’s not possible, it is not a major issue. However, it should not directly face the main entrance, as this is traditionally considered the position of the Wealth God. If the placement must face the main entrance, it is recommended to slightly angle it to show respect for the Wealth God. Avoid positioning it toward the restroom or trash bin.

1. The placement height of Pixiu is important—it should not be higher than a person’s head. If it is too high, Pixiu will metaphorically "lose sight of its owner" (symbolizing arrogance), which is considered inauspicious.

2. Pixiu should not face the kitchen. The kitchen is associated with dirt and fire, both of which are believed to be unfavorable for Pixiu. Additionally, Pixiu is said to "feed on gold and silver," whereas food prepared in the kitchen is not considered its proper nourishment. Also, avoid placing Pixiu where it is directly reflected by a mirror.

3. A cup of clean water can be placed in front of Pixiu, but the water level should not be higher than Pixiu itself.

4. Once placed, Pixiu should not be moved frequently. If relocation is necessary, avoid touching its mouth (as it symbolizes gathering wealth) and its eyes (as they represent seeking fortune).

5. When cleaning Pixiu, only wipe its body, but do not clean its eyes, as they symbolize its ability to spot wealth. After cleaning, dry it with a clean cloth.

6. If you no longer wish to display Pixiu, wrap it in red cloth and store it in a cabinet for safekeeping.

7. Pixiu’s head should not face an aquarium or a water tank, as this symbolizes "wealth flowing away" (a bad omen).

8. Pixiu should not be placed facing seats, doors, beds, or workspaces where the owner frequently sits, sleeps, or works, as this is considered inauspicious.
