The price of Hetian jade is not easy to determine directly. In comparison, its quality is easier to assess—and high-quality Hetian jade will always command a higher price.
🫰 If a piece of Hetian jade has a dense structure, shows no obvious graininess to the naked eye, and reveals a uniform interwoven fibrous texture under light, it indicates a very fine and delicate quality.

🫰 If the surface displays a greasy, lustrous sheen—and this oiliness becomes more pronounced with handling—it is a typical characteristic of Hetian jade seed material (Hetian jade “ziliao”).
🫰 Check the color: it should be a warm white tone, similar to fresh mutton fat—milky white or slightly creamy/yellowish. The color should be even, without impurities. It is not a stark, pure white.

Xinjiang Hetian jade seed material is the most valuable due to its rarity. In terms of pricing hierarchy for Xinjiang jade:
Seed material > Mountain stream material > Mountain material
