The Secrets of Feng Shui Pixiu Placement and Usage

The Secrets of Feng Shui Pixiu Placement and Usage

Pixiu (also known as Tianlu) ranks first among the five auspicious beasts associated with attracting wealth and blessings. It is one of the sons of the Dragon. From its appearance, Pixiu is majestic and radiant, symbolizing the attraction of wealth from all directions and the prevention of wealth loss.

There is a saying: "Touch Pixiu once to attract abundant wealth; touch it twice for rolling prosperity; touch it three times for peace throughout life." Pixiu kept as a household ornament is believed to possess spiritual energy. Once properly placed, it should not be moved frequently.

When placing a wealth-attracting Pixiu at home, its mouth should face diagonally toward the main entrance, or toward a window (preferably toward a road visible through the window or doorway where people or vehicles pass). Since Pixiu is believed to favor wealth, it is said to draw in the wealth of passersby or external wealth. It should never face a toilet, and its head should not point directly toward the main entrance, as the main entrance is considered the domain of door deities or wealth deities.

Pixiu should not face a mirror, as mirrors create reflected light. It should also not face a bed, as this is considered unfavorable to the owner. A cup of water should be placed in front of a wealth-attracting Pixiu, because Pixiu is regarded as one of the Dragon's sons and should not be separated from water. The placement height should not exceed Pixiu's head, and it should not be placed in the positions representing Heaven, Earth, and Human Wealth (that is, it should not be placed directly on the ground, nor higher than a person's head). Once properly placed, it is best not to move it. If it must be moved during cleaning, its head should be wrapped with a red cloth before carrying it.

It is considered best to offer a coil incense daily or provide food offerings, so that Pixiu may have sufficient energy to help its owner attract wealth. Millet, pearl rice, and black rice are suitable offerings, while sand and soil should not be used. Among fruit offerings, pears and strawberries are traditionally avoided (as the Chinese pronunciation is considered inauspicious). Women should not touch or stroke Pixiu during menstruation. Pixiu should not be cleaned too frequently; traditionally, there are only four cleansing dates each year according to the lunar calendar.

Different forms of Pixiu are traditionally selected according to different people. Government officials are advised to choose a Pixiu with large buttocks, symbolizing a stable official position. Business people are advised to choose one with a large belly, symbolizing the accumulation of wealth. Children are advised to choose a winged Pixiu, symbolizing soaring success.

In addition, before deciding where to place Pixiu in the home, it should first undergo a consecration ceremony. Buddhist or Taoist consecration methods are both acceptable. After consecration, it is believed to possess wealth-attracting spiritual power. Pay attention to the Feng Shui placement principles of wealth-attracting Pixiu, and may it bring prosperity to you.

Important Notes

  1. Pixiu should not be placed in the positions representing Heaven, Earth, and Human Wealth.
  2. Consecrated sacred objects should not come into contact with blood, bodily fluids, or unclean substances.
  3. Do not casually touch Pixiu's eyes or mouth. The eyes are believed to seek wealth, and the mouth is believed to gather wealth.
  4. Pixiu should be placed diagonally toward a doorway or window, preferably where roads with passing people or vehicles are visible, as it is believed to draw in external wealth.
  5. Caring for Pixiu requires a cup of clean water. The water cup should not be higher than Pixiu's mouth, and the water should always be kept clean and full.
  6. Pixiu is not associated with the Five Elements, Yin-Yang, or a person's Eight Characters (Ba Zi).
  7. Household Pixiu may be placed singly, in pairs, or according to the homeowner's Ba Zi.
  8. Pixiu should not receive incense offerings directly.
  9. When you first receive Pixiu, it is recommended that only one person open the package. Gently stroke it several times from the ears to the tail before placing it. Others should avoid touching it casually, as this is traditionally believed to affect both parties. If someone does touch it, simply rinse Pixiu with clean water and allow its eyes and mouth to air dry naturally afterward.
