1-Choose an auspicious day to perform the eye-opening for Pixiu.
2-Pixiu cleansing:
After receiving the Pixiu, find a place with no one around, such as a study or bedroom. Use clean water to wash the Pixiu. This is the first step to accept the Pixiu.
3-If there is a God of Wealth altar at home, face the God of Wealth.
If not, face the direction of the God of Wealth for that day (both you and the Pixiu should face the God of Wealth).
4-Close your eyes and make a wish for three minutes. Sincerity brings effectiveness.
Remember to tell Pixiu and the God of Wealth your name and address.
5-Eye-opening:
Use a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of tea oil to dot the Pixiu’s eyes — first the left eye, then the right eye.
6-Hold the Pixiu with your left hand.
Use the thumb of your right hand to gently stroke the Pixiu’s head from front to back three times:
7-First stroke: wishing for prosperous fortune
Second stroke: wishing for rolling wealth
Third stroke: wishing for smooth success
8-Loosen the ears and remove the red string from the Pixiu’s neck, allowing it to “feed” again.
9Wrap it in a red cloth.
When ensuring you are alone, open the red cloth and let Pixiu see you first.
10After owner recognition, slowly stroke the Pixiu from top to bottom, avoiding the eyes and mouth, then wear it.
